Now when I am in doubt I first look at this book. They say "when in doubt, read the directions" But I hate to read directions. The illustrations are FANTASTIC.

This book has everything in it and he can explain thing so you can understand what he's talking about. Great book.

Worth much more than the purchase price. The author has a knack for writing clearly and getting to the point. The exploded images and simple explanations are just what I needed, being less than mechanically inclined but wanting to work on my 47' catamaran myself. Knowing what has gone wrong and why is invaluable to me. Necessary precursor to Nigel Calder's bible, at least for the novice.

We are weekend sailors and I found the book useful in describing how many of the boat systems work and terminology. Good illustrations and easy to understand explanations make it useful for the novice sailor.
